Titus 1:9-16 Tonight, we look at how our gainsayer tries to make the Sermon on the Mount apply to us today. I had sent him verses that contradict Paul's teachings as well to show we can not nor does anyone ever try to apply these verses today.

Our gainsayer first challenges me on my not using the word 'application' thus I don't believe all scripture, etc. Then, he denies it himself, but by the time he was done, he then says he does believe it. This is a great example of lousy reasoning - and confusion - all in one paragraph!

As I study his 'comments' I am beginning to see that he has three main issues he is missing.
  1. He has no idea what the difference is between the kingdom of heaven (only mentioned in Matthew & never mentioned by Paul) & the kingdom of God (only what Paul taught!)
  2. He uses the same couple of verses to hang all his doctrine on to show the Hebrews to Jude is NOT Tribulational application
  3. His reasoning actually goes against the simple truth of the KJB, as rightly divided.
We look at the times that the Jews spent 'reasoning' with Jesus, etc. only to see that Jesus accuses them of 'perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?

Then we look at the few times Paul spent reasoning with the Jews. When the Jews couldn't handle what Paul taught of the Risen Saviour, they would then reason together - and NEVER get it!

Then, we spent the rest of the evening comparing our gainsayers attempt at applying the Beatitudes to Christians today with what Paul says. We look at Matthew 5:9,10 and 18 tonight. The 'reasoning' really makes no sense while Paul's application is truly the way of God more perfectly!

The gainsayer's reasoning is almost silly it is so roundabout and senseless.

Very poor video quality as I had to use a webcam for the cam -and lately, the sound isn't the best, either - still working on those problems!
PS - During the gainsayers series, there will be no notes other than what is on this page. I doubt that any gainsayers would listen to the audio so they would only scan the notes and disagree. "Hey, you folks on Mars' hill - Listen up - Paul has something to say to you!"
But alas, I know they won't! So, we will take a look at the modern Christian living the life of Mars' hill. This morning, we look at the Scriptural descriptions of them in God's own words! We will then look at the results of being a modern Christian today.

We will ask ourselves, 'Why do these people appear to behave 'better' than most KJB people and why are they so much nicer, etc." Why do they make better friends than our own brethren? We will also look at what 'seems' so magnificent about them that even us Paul folks are going back to play with them, and in more and more cases, actually going so far as to yoke with them.

If we know we are to despise their religion and destroy the magnificence of it all, then why don't we? Are we actually jealous of them and their manner of life instead of Paul's? Why do we, as claiming to be Paul-following Christians, openly reject God's wisdom and words about these folks that are caught up in a false religion that 'seems' so good, but the Scriptures deplore?

I pulled out some of my own study notes and found my copy of the Humanist Manifesto as well as some 'warnings' about humanism in our school system. In the sermon, while I review some of those humanistic teachings, we all should recognize that not only have those humanistic beliefs infiltrated the schools as well as the country, we also see that they are in our churches now. In fact, they are even in our KJB churches - in even more real fact, they are in those Paul following churches and assemblies, as well Are they in your family?

With Humanism being considered an approved religion by the IRS, this should be an eye-opener for those who are falling for the ways of the goodness of man, thinking that they are being 'good' Christians, only to find out they are following another religion!

A simple close read. By paying attention to the doctrine and comparing with what Paul teaches, we must observe that I John is in the Bible FOR us, but certainly is not TO us. One can get a fantastically detailed account of the Tribulation that isn't found in Revelation!

Especially learn about 1 John 4:1-3 - Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. Compare that to Acts 2:17 and see how that verse is incorrectly preached TO Christians today.

We do the whole book of I John in one simple read 'with comments' of course.

Are 'Honour Killings' new in America? No - Christians have been doing it to each other for years. When someone makes some changes in their lives to please God, then the 'christians' around them are shamed. Instead of rejoicing with them that rejoice they do what they can to kill you spiritually.

There are two kinds of Honour Killings among Christians:
  1. Those that find a Christian that has tripped up and do a good job of killing them more
  2. Those that are envious of those who ARE succeeding in changing their walk (modesty, leadership as a man, etc.) and so they do what they can to tear them down. That includes wives towards husbands and visa versa; fathers towards their growing children, etc.

It is a shame - but it exists more than most realize, especially those 'honour killers'!
