Acts 22-28
Part IV We see Paul finally close out his dealings with all the Jews 'officially' with two final 'miracles' - and then talks to the Jews again - and as they reject it all, Paul moves on to Gentiles again! We get a better understanding of all this by reading Isaiah and Romans 11. Chapters 22-26 are Paul's own testimonies to all who will listen. We can listen to this today - and get a much better understanding of all of Paul's teachings.

Acts 1-13
Part VII Now things start changing a little. Stephen is dead but it isn't time for Paul to come onto the scene yet other than his personal persecution of the church which was at Jerusalem. Jerusalem? You mean those were the ones who scattered? So maybe those being mentioned in I Peter 1:1 as scattered are actually still the Jews Peter is talking to? Peter is the apostle to the circumcision you know - so who else would it be. It certainly isn't the Gentiles. We will discuss that later.

For now, we hear from Philip between Peter and Paul. Then we have this guy who thinks writing his check for the offering - a big check even - will make his relationship with God better. We don't have people like that today at all, do we? One of the most dangerous subjects for a pastor to talk about is money... it seems that I remember that some of the biggest givers when I was a pastor never did make any 'changes' in their lives - they just wrote bigger checks. It didn't work for Simon and it doesn't work today - but those bigger checks are sure nice!

Note: Acts 8:37 is NOT proof that we get baptized 'after' salvation. It is NOT the first 'Gentile' saved so it is also not the "first saved was a black man" teaching. It DOES remind us that up to this point, the word 'believe' was meaning that they believed that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Does Paul teach to us that our salvation is based on whether or not we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God? No - read Ephesians 1:12; 2:8,9, etc.

So why is Acts 8:37 not in the modern Bibles today? Satan had to take out a verse that proves we need to listen to Paul, not Philip, not Peter nor should we go back to the gospels for our salvation to be found. Our salvation is found through Paul Only - anyone else is 'another Jesus.'

PS - If all goes well, the video has been finally 'upgraded.' If all goes well, that is! Still trying to improve on the sound... not bad, but not satisfactory to me, yet.

Part III

Acts 4:24-37 We see the essence of the Great Commission - healing! We also see how people reacted to the working of God - they were affrighted, grieved and angered. Peter ought to be happy they didn't treat him after his sermons like they treated Stephen!

We look at each verse and each word in Acts 3 and Acts 4:1-23. It is obvious that this is all to the Jews as they were to go out to the Gentiles - but these words and teachings are certainly not to us today as they are so foreign to what Paul preaches! Peter was 'the man' then, and will be 'the man' tomorrow - but today, our apostle is Paul!

Still working on the 'details' of the video cam, but hey, at least it is there - just ignore the display stuff. Like I say, still working on details... ha ha

John 21:15 to Acts 2:47 This evening we look specifically at the "Jewishness" of the Great Commission as Peter is first told to 'feed my sheep.'

As we look in detail at Peter's first two 'speeches' to the Jews, we learn about:

What speaking in tongues really was
What teachings of Jesus were to be taught during that 'Great Commission,' as it is called today, compared to Paul's teachings
What the first 'speaking in tongues' has to to with Joel 2:28 and the Tribulation
The design and purpose of the local church and how today's church is NOT supposed to follow Peter - but they do today because the local church has developed Alzheimers. Today's pastors are going back to the baby days of the local church as they try to be have favour with all the people - totally opposite of what Paul teaches to the church today!

Bonus - We see the 'baloneyness' of the greek fools gold nugget about agape and phileo love in John 21.

Part I

Luke 24:36-53; Matthew 16:13-20; John Why does everyone want to follow Peter when we are told to follow Paul? Well, here is detailed verse by verse series study that will show you the details of Peter's Commission to the Jews 'before' Paul. The Great Commission did happen but it is history, NOT present day doctrine.

This morning we look specifically at what/who it was exactly they were to believe. It wasn't what/who Paul tells us to believe today, that is more than obvious! You may even understand YOUR own salvation much better after this sermon.

Bonus - People are as afraid and full of disbelief of the Risen Christ today as they were when He first arose out of the tomb!

Bonus 2 - We see the origination of the 'church' and it isn't Acts 9, etc.

A "more sure word of prophecy" in II Peter 1:15-21 is not what is commonly preached today using it as referring to the King James Bible.
The word sheep is referring to the Jews in the Gospels AND in the Tribulation - not to the Gentiles.

Wednesday Evening Round Nine Goes to Paul Only! Titus 1:9-16 Our gainsayer asks "Why Paul 'ONLY'? Do you really think that God went to the Gentiles ONLY with Paul? Show me in the Scriptures where God was done with the Jews and thus went to Paul."

Ok - I did tonight! Here you go - or would you rather stay destitute of the truth?

In fact, we even use the same verses you did as you tried to show me he didn't - how could you miss something so obvious? You were close - you had the correct verses to actually prove what you don't believe!

There were a few extra just to make sure you didn't miss the truth, though. Along with Acts 9:15; 13:46-47; 14:1; 18:16; 19:8,9; 28:17-29 along with Romans 11 - you missed that chapter, though.

We will discuss Peter in the next sermon. :-)

Wednesday Evening Round Eight Goes to Paul Only! Titus 1:9-16 Back to our gainsayer... He says that because there are many contradictions when you compare Paul to the rest of the Bible. No, Mr. Gainsayer - it actually means just the opposite. Because there are so many contradictions with Paul and the rest of the Bible, that proves that you can not mix them up into one all around gospel for personal application. Going with Paul "Only" eliminates all those contradictions!

Do we say God's way is now 'understandable' when He says it isn't? Psalm 20:24
You say that Habakkuk proves that OT was not a salvation by works, but by faith! Habakkuk 2:4... It Does? Compare it to Romans 3:28 - do you see the difference? You still don't understand the faith of Jesus Christ and our faith, do you?
You tell me that OT people died having faith, so you wonder how I can say it is by works? I'll tell you - listen closely!
You are wondering where I get the teaching that the books from Hebrews to Jude are Tribulation. You also wonder that if the Jews would have accepted Christ from Peter, why do I say the Tribulation was right around the corner for them at that time?
"Hey, Mr. Gainsayer? If you read and try to apply Leviticus 26:12, then why do you ignore the rest of that chapter?" That chapter explains, in detail, the consequences of not following God during the OT. Do we have to worry about those same consequences today? Why or why not?

Wednesday Evening Round Two Goes to Paul Only! Titus 1:9-16 Tonight, we look at how our gainsayer tries to make the Sermon on the Mount apply to us today. I had sent him verses that contradict Paul's teachings as well to show we can not nor does anyone ever try to apply these verses today.

Our gainsayer first challenges me on my not using the word 'application' thus I don't believe all scripture, etc. Then, he denies it himself, but by the time he was done, he then says he does believe it. This is a great example of lousy reasoning - and confusion - all in one paragraph!

As I study his 'comments' I am beginning to see that he has three main issues he is missing.

He has no idea what the difference is between the kingdom of heaven (only mentioned in Matthew & never mentioned by Paul) & the kingdom of God (only what Paul taught!)
He uses the same couple of verses to hang all his doctrine on to show the Hebrews to Jude is NOT Tribulational application
His reasoning actually goes against the simple truth of the KJB, as rightly divided.

We look at the times that the Jews spent 'reasoning' with Jesus, etc. only to see that Jesus accuses them of 'perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?

Then we look at the few times Paul spent reasoning with the Jews. When the Jews couldn't handle what Paul taught of the Risen Saviour, they would then reason together - and NEVER get it!

Then, we spent the rest of the evening comparing our gainsayers attempt at applying the Beatitudes to Christians today with what Paul says. We look at Matthew 5:9,10 and 18 tonight. The 'reasoning' really makes no sense while Paul's application is truly the way of God more perfectly!

The gainsayer's reasoning is almost silly it is so roundabout and senseless.

Sunday Evening Round One Goes to Paul Only! Titus 1:9-16 We look at his three major 'obstacle' points to his believing "Paul Only."

He says, "Based on I John 2:18 & II Peter 3:2-4, Hebrews to Jude can't be Tribulation books."
Jewish and Gentiles are one so why not all follow the Jewish teachings instead of 'Gentile only?'
He says 'All scripture is profitable for application.'

We also take a quick look at his closing comments:

He says 'Pilate never physically whipped Jesus.'
He says the Holy Spirit taught Paul, not Jesus Christ - based on John 14 & 16, etc.
He asked, "Why did Paul preach to the Jews in Acts?"
He asked, "What does the killing of Stephen have to do with Christ going on to the Gentiles?"

However, typical of a gainsayer, their mind is corrupted and destitute of the truth. I doubt he will even understand the answers - and I KNOW this will not convince him. He will just have more questions and comments. Paul does tell us to avoid these situations as they are a waste of time. However, for our sake of learning - AND - for his sake, I will give him all these chances to see all his doubts and questions answered by Paul ONLY.

Here are the details showing that 'Communion' was for the Jews - even during Paul's time and is not to the Gentiles today. In fact, there are 2 other reasons that will show you why the Lord's Supper is not TO us today. So in that case, the warning in I Corinthians 11:27-34 is a bogus warning if any preacher tries to apply it to anyone today.

Chapters 6-9 Today, are we following the same pattern as did the Jews in the OT? It sure seems like it - listen to Jeremiah and see if his preaching to the Jews is pretty much the same message we have to the Gentiles today - with the exception of todays' gospel of God's goodness and longsuffering and grace taking the place of God's wrath - until the Tribulation, anyway!

We start this with what does the Risen Saviour say to us through Paul about whether or not we should take no thought about our life, eat, drink, clothes, etc. today! We even touch on the opportunity the Jews had concerning the kingdom of God. They rejected it thus we have it offered to us as Gentiles today!
