Do we ever get stirred anymore when we are in mixed community company?
Why are we more and more willing to partake of the works of darkness when the Scriptures strictly tell us not to?
What is happening to us?
Who is bewitching you?
Who is hindering us that we do not obey the truth?
Why do we allow this to happen to us?
We know Jesus cares - we know Paul cared - but do we care about others?
Do we care about the music?
Do we care about their souls?
Do we care about them wrongly dividing?
Do we care anymore about the modern religions and bibles?
Have we become complacent in our walk?
Are we comfortable in the world again? If so - why and how did it happen?
How do the Scriptures warn us about being so easily deceived?
Are you a fluffy Christian full of leaven - the gas bubbles of the world that make us think we are more than we really are?

We take a look at more verses of our most popular hymns where Paul talks about music; then we look at more hymns to see if there are any 'lies' that we sing. What kind of lies, you ask? Lies that show a false doctrine within our hymns - and lies when we sing what we say we do, but that we don't do in real life - making US the liar, not the hymnbook.

We also are finding admonishment that we sing - to ourselves as well as to others, just as Paul stated in Colossians 3:16.

Can we always go to Romans 14 and tell the brethren to quit judging them for their immodesty and fleshy music coming into our churches today? After all, we do have our own judgment seat coming and so we really shouldn't be judging our Christian brethren, right?

Wrong! Read Romans 14, KJB of course, slowly and carefully and see how even many of the KJB folks have misread this chapter and used it to justify their lowered standards.

Are Paul’s Teachings Impractical?

I have heard it said that in today's world, trying to follow the teachings of the risen Saviour through Paul is not practical.

You mean dressing 'very' modestly?
You mean being quiet and sober?
You mean not following the world's way of entertainment?
You mean saying 'no' to things that you used to say 'yes' to?

That is all not practical?

Growing in judgment?
Believing One Bible?
Learning the truth about music and then living it?
Serving the living God and Risen Saviour today is impractical?
Designing the local church to please God instead of man?

According to the scriptures, what are a few real reasons people say Paul is impractical?

Rightly Dividing Christmas IV

Note from Pastor Mike:
Let's look at the original "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and do a Bible study of each verse to see if this is something that we should be singing. We can put truths into our own words, as did Wesley here, but we also must make sure what we are singing is still truthful.

For those of you that are new to 'meter' and syllable writing of the old hymns, you may find this interesting. You can see how they put the emphasis on words, not music and how we put the emphasis on music and not words today.

Also, this is the only time in history, past, present or future that you will hear me sing 'solo' as we do some singing for example in this sermon. My apologies. :-) Following along with the notes is important to understand what we are doing in the sermon, too.

How close should a church family be?

What does Job have to teach us today about the local church?

Here are some comments and answers to an ever growing situation these days. Leaving a church family over serious doctrine such as rightly dividing, bible versions, music, etc. that is fine and should be done. But because of these lies? Never! And the history of this local history has a history of quitters - over what? The walk!

Can you see it coming? When you hear these comments, probably so.

Maybe we can stop this trend!

We cover Music in the OT and Music for the Body of Christ today.

Here is my 'personal' sermon on the 'all' that I have preached on music in summary format. We contrast the OT design of music (including the Gospels) with the NT design of music through Paul. Worship today is totally what Paul preached on Mars Hill - when he preached to those who ignorantly worshipped their unknown God.

What does the Bible say about music rightly divided? Here it is - this is all based on all the years that I have been in the 'ministry' and seeing what I have seen in the churches I was involved with these past 25 years.

Music is a powerful voice that the devil is using to prepare this world for worshipping the Beast! It is exceeding magnifical what the King James Bible can reveal today - to those who truly trust it as the very mouth of God and can also understand how to rightly divide the word of truth.

The KJB is not only the gospel of our salvation (Ephesians 1:13), it is also the source of our understanding and enlightenment.

Yes, this sermon appears to be lengthy - but even as 'fast' as I presented this sermon tonight, I pray this sermon will help folks see what is going on in their lives and church concerning music. The notes are available by clicking the above title - maybe these notes will help you see what could be one of the most important 'changes' you can make in your life and for your family.
