There is no magical Jesus ‘blessing’ you get because of your good works or chastising you because you are bad. He is not the modern day Santa Claus, etc. He is not the OT king threatening you with the law.
What does the Risen Saviour have to say about our Bible today. Where is the power of God today, etc. Does the King James Bible fit into this picture? If so, how?
